You are, sadly, quite correct. Our government has wasted money on things equally or even more absurd than “psychic” phenomena on several occasions. Local police departments and the FBI have employed self-proclaimed psychics to divine the locations of murdered bodies on a few occasions as well. It hasn’t ever worked, of course, and it has been a waste of police time and public money. Some victims may have been found sooner or even rescued if that time had been put to good use. It’s a shame.
