and I am not sure what it is..can you get it at health food stores or is it a prescription or something
thanks
also if you know anything that might help early stage glaucoma, possible retinopathy or worsening visual acuity naturally, please let me know
My mother went nearly blind the last year of her life from glaucoma and I want to try to reverse or stop the worsening.
thanks but what is Forskolin
The herb Coleus Forskohlii (sold as Coleus Forte in Health stores) is supposed to be good for the prevention and treatment of glaucoma as it reduces the pressure in your eyes. You have to ask for it in Health Stores as it is kept behind the counter and although you can buy it without a prescription it is deemed to be prescription medication so they are not permitted to have it on the self service shelves.
The herb Forskolin is actually the same as Coleus Forskohlii (Coleus Forte).

I have a small rash on my foot that looks like the online pictures of scabies. I have no insurance, and fixed income, so I like to try the alternative methods first. I read that Oil of Oregano works, Any other alternative ideas ?
There is some evidence that a 10% sulfur ointment in petroleum jelly applied topically is effective. It is cheap and readily available without a prescription. It also has the advantage of being well-tolerated in pregnant women and infants under two months of age.
You can purchase either or both:
- a good sulphur (sulfur) soap; use at least twice per day or as recommended; and/ OR
- yellow sulphur (sulfur) powder and mix some with any grease (e.g. petroleum jelly/ olive oil) just to make it adhere to the skin – wear a sock to prevent paste from smearing on your sheet etc.
Even if it’s not scabies, sulphur (sulfur) will address most skin problems (incl. fungus).
Wash those socks separately from other laundry (eg. laundry load, add 1/4 cup white vinegar); so you can average for your socks.
Good luck.

Would health insurance coverage for alternative health care increase consumer choice or decrease health care costs?
It would increase consumer choice – and drastically increase health care costs.
Keep in mind, the "alternative treatment" for the #1 preventable condition in the USA (obesity & related ailments like diabetes), is DIET AND EXCERCISE, and doesn’t cost a dime.

I heard that conventional soap just tricks you into thinking foam equals clean.
I’ve also heard that "antibacterial" soaps are kind of pointless, but had soap does break down oily residues on your hands that just water can’t get rid of.

What does he study, work etc.
"alternative health reformer" ?
Put that term into Google, you won’t get any results apart from your question here. Maybe it’s because it’s a role that doesn’t actually exist?

oriented and would never have surgery unless there was no other option. I did and now I am so sick and vomited from all the meds from anesthesia, etc. What can I do now in natural forms/foods, etc.to recover?
Also, has anyone else had a bad anesthesia experience? I heard they have certain anesthesia drugs that alleviate nausea, why don’t they use them then…
yes i always have a bad reaction to general anesthesia. i always get the shakes, throw up, and faint.
i wouldn’t say that there are any natural "remedies" all you should have to do is sleep it off and you should feel better. anesthesia stays in your system for 24-48 hours so during that time just take it easy. get lots of rest and try to eat/drink something that sounds appealing to you.
drs/nurses always suggest toast, cereal, popsicles to me when i feel very ill but those things make me want to throw up even more. all i want is stuff like pizza and soda. thats what i eat and thats what makes me feel better.
nobody knows how you will react until you have anesthesia at least once. they aren’t going to give you anti nausea meds before they know whether or not you need them. and if they give them to you after the fact that you already feel ill and have thrown up the meds are less likely to work.
before my last 2 surgeries i told the anesthesiologist that i would be sick after i woke up and asked for them to give me the anti nausea meds before i even woke up and they did and it helped alot.
now that you know how you are most likely going to react you can ask them to do that for you if you ever have surgery again.

I am watching what I eat, it seems the more I have been working out and eating healthy the more I crave carbs, such as donuts, and pastries. What are some alternative quick snacks that taste just as good that I can eat with less bad carbs.
I go for protein when I crave carbs because I am hypoglycemic, but I think it is a good trick for people watching their weight as well. If you don’t have nut allergies, nuts are really good. Don’t worry about the fat content because you need some fats to process proteins properly. A handful of almonds can really keep you going. Maybe a cup of yogurt if you don’t eat nuts. Avoid energy bars for their sugar content. Also, fresh fruit is always a good choice. Plain yogurt with a handful of blueberries is an awesome snack. Fruit has carbs but the kind you want to be eating.
